Our first Business Meeting was September 7, 2022. 
We meet at the Rose Caracappa Center, Rt25A, Mt. Sinai....7pm Wednesday
(Always and only on Wednesdays)

Membership dues for the year are $20. (September - June)
New Members are always welcome! Please come to any business meeting to join.

Our first meeting was a great success.
It was a great turn out after being out for more than two years.
We had about 30 NEW members. Welcome to all!

Our Holiday Dinner is Wednesday, December 7, 6-10pm
Miller Place Inn

THANK YOU to our Board for keeping the unit together with constant updates on members and hopes of us getting back together.......


Community Service unit projects: 
Our September meeting was a collection for school supplies/food pantry
                                    Thank you all for your support.


Our October collection will be for Mercy Center: provides services to Homeless Teen Girls and Teen Moms in Suffolk. Most needed items: Diapers Sizes 5-6 (only) and pull ups, Baby Wipes, Feminine products (pads?tampons) toothpaste, toothbrushes
Food pantry items, other needed items: Laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, paper supplies, dish soap, sponges


NOVEMBER: Veterans: Food Pantry
DECEMBER: Food Pantry (at Holiday Dinner)
JANUARY: Hope House/Pax Christi: Food Pantry
FEBRUARY: Fort Drum/Baby Bundles Program: Food Pantry
MARCH: Brighter Tomorrows: Food Pantry
APRIL: Hugs Program/Animal Shelter: Food Pantry
MAY: Help Suffolk/Shelter for Homeless Families: Food Pantry


 


Fort Drum baby bundles 
 The baby blankets can be  crocheted, knitted or you could sew them. Usually 30X30 in size, any colors you would like to make them. They also are taking sweater and hat sets. 

These items are collected all year round:
Our yellow Lap blankets for Mather Hospital are still in need. (29 x 29) Barbara Zinna collects them, and also has yarn if you would like some. Please call her to make arrangements to pick up yarn or drop off blankets.

Coupons for our Service men and women are always in need. Pam Kelly is still collecting, cutting, and mailing away coupons. Please: no candy, make-up, or dog food coupons. She will have a box with plastic bags out on her porch if you would like to drop them off to her.

The girls invited the membership to come to Showcase.
 We had 25 members show up at the 2010 Showcase.

Our 2012 spring Showcase had 20 of our members show up to support our Unit. Thank you ladies for stopping by to greet us. Once again we had a sewing machine winner at the Showcase. Way to go Kathy G.
