Dear Homemakers,
Mark your calendars – we have some exciting news! We will be having a social event on Wednesday, March 23th, 2022, at the Rose Caracappa Senior Center, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Lee Ann Silver and I received a very large donation of fabric, ribbon, paint brushes, needles, thread, and many other notations from a former member ( Carol Volz). Feel free to bring anything you want to donate, as well. We also would like to encourage everyone to invite any new potential Homemakers to our event. They can meet some of our members, and in September they might feel more comfortable seeing familiar faces. Of course we ask you all to wear a mask while indoors for everyone's comfort and safety.
We will be having another meeting at the Rose Caracappa Senior Center on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm indoors. We will have a book exchange and collect food for our local pantry at this event. Then the following month we would like to have an outdoor social event with a plant exchange, trunk exchange, and collecting for our food pantries. This will be Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 7:00 pm with a rain date of May 18, 2022, at 7:00 pm. We hope to see all our members at at least one of these events. You may also pre register for September then.
Just a quick reminder: if you have already registered this will be carried over to September of this year.
A message from Pam Kelly:
Chinese Auction
As chairperson of our unit’s Chinese Auction I would like to cancel for this year, to return even bigger and better in 2023. I know how much work goes into organizing, soliciting, making craft items, donating, setting up, taking down, and storing everything needed for our auction to continue to be successful.
It would be very disappointing to do all this and have to cancel due to Covid, or to only have a few people attending. Also, we all know what a difficult two years our local businesses have experienced, and it would be quite uncomfortable to ask them for donations at this time. Hopefully this is the right decision for us and everyone will be ready to participate next year!
Thank you,
Pam Kelly
Community Service unit projects
We will be collecting these items at the March meeting.

We will be collecting for Fort Drum baby bundles
The baby blankets can be crocheted, knitted or you could sew them. Usually 30X30 in size, any colors you would like to make them. They also are taking sweater and hat sets.
These items are collected all year round:
Our yellow Lap blankets for Mather Hospital are still in need. (29 x 29) Barbara Zinna collects them, and also has yarn if you would like some. Please call her to make arrangements to pick up yarn or drop off blankets.
Coupons for our Service men and women are always in need. Pam Kelly is still collecting, cutting, and mailing away coupons. Please: no candy, make-up, or dog food coupons. She will have a box with plastic bags out on her porch if you would like to drop them off to her.
News about our members
Chris Sarili’s mother Patricia Tumulty is a member of our unit. She will be 100 years young on March 16, 2022. She asked if all of us could send her mother a card for her birthday. I thought that would be a wonderful idea.
I would like to wish Dotty Callegari’s husband Paul a speedy recovery.
Book Club
March book Club book is “The Life She Was Given’ by Ellen Marie Wiseman. It will be presented by Marion Benesh on March 30th at 7 pm, via Zoom. Anyone who wants to join us, contact Marie Angeloro: and she will send you the link.
